There are a few manufacturers who produce small seed beads and cylinder beads. The difference between those beads can be found in another article on this blog. Today I will tell you about the difference between Miyuki beads and ToHo beads, two of the most popular seed beads nowadays.
Miyuki and ToHo are both beads brands. They produce seed beads in all different sizes, kind of textures and shapes. There is a difference between Miyuki Beads and ToHo beads which I’m gonna explain in this blog post.
Miyuki and Toho both produce the same cylinder tube beads but still, they are slightly different. Miyuki calls them Delicas and Toho named them treasures. Both beads are cylinder-shaped and every bead is the same width and height, different from seed beads who are a bit different from each other.
Delica beads and treasure beads are mostly the same. The shape is the same and the inner side of the hole is mostly the same. The only big difference is…. color range. There are many more Delica colors available than Treasure colors. Toho is working its way up to produce more colors but Miyuki is far far ahead.
Seed Beads vs Seed Beads
There is a big difference between Seed Beads from Miyuki and seed beads from Toho. Miyuki seed beads are far more indifferent than Toho beads. The seed beads of Miyuki are round, just like Toho beads, but some are a bit larger than the rest of the pack. Toho seed beads are mostly the same round seed beads. As you can see in the image below; the Toho beads are much more in one line than the Miyuki beads.
As you can see, there is a bit of a difference between the beads. Nonetheless you can use both beads into the same project! The differences are minimal and the beads can be combined in projects if you like.
